How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Arlington
Here's what to do with your Christmas tree so it can keep on giving.

ARLINGTON, MA — Wondering what to do with your Christmas tree now that the needles are starting to fall with faster frequency? Well, if you need a little extra nudge to get the tinsel and the lights taken off, Arlington officials say they will only be picking up trees for recycling next week after New Year's Day.
If you hold on the the Christmas spirit longer than that you'll be able to drop it off at the DPW yard but after that you're on your own. Trees are taken to be chipped and composted, so make sure there's no decorations left on it as that will muck up the chipper.
Christmas trees will be picked up the week of January 2-6 on your regular trash day.
There will be a one-day drop off at DPW Yard January 13, 9 a.m. - noon for Arlington resident only.

Trees should be bare (no decoration, no plastic bags). Trees under or frozen in snow will not be collected.
Wreaths and garland should go out in regular trash (because they are wrapped in wire). This is a town-wide pick up of trees only. No yard waste will be picked up at this time.
