How Well-Used Is Arlington's Bike-Share Program?
The town released data from the first month of service.

ARLINGTON, MA – Dockless bike-sharing launched in Arlington on June 28 and has already clocked thousands of trips in its first month. According to data released by the town, bike-share vendor Lime has counted 2,138 rides originating in Arlington, with an average of 900 rides occurring in each of the last two weeks.
The 2,138 rides correspond to 1,169 unique riders since the launch. Riders have averaged 0.7 miles per trip and traveled about 2,544 total miles, according to the town.
The Arlington Department of Planning and CommunityDevelopment (DPCD) will continue to review and analyze the data to determine where riders unlock bikes and where the top destinations are in Arlington and beyond.

The map below indicates that trips have occurred throughout Arlington and its abutting communities, as well as heavy use on the Minuteman Bikeway.

Lime costs $1 per each 30 minutes to ride. Lime also offers Lime Access, which provides discounted rides for individuals who can demonstrate that they qualify or participate in any state or federally-run assistance program by possessing an EBT card, a discounted utility bill, or other official document. Once you qualify for Lime Access, you can purchase 100 rides for $5, which can be paid in cash and does not require the use of a smartphone.
