ICYMI: Flora Restaurant to Serve Final Meals Friday

Flora restaurant will be serving its final meals on Friday, July 15 after 20 years of business.

ARLINGTON, MA—An East Arlington mainstay which has been open for 20 years has set its official closing date.

Flora Restaurant, which has been open for 20 years, announced via its Facebook account that its final meal will be served on July 15.

Bob and Mary Jo Sargent, the owners of East Arlington's Flora restaurant, are leaving the restaurant and will be passing it off to new owners Cyrille Coucet and Wayne Duprey. The couple announced that the restaurant will be re-branded with a new name and concept.

Coucet and Duprey plan to open "Financier", described as a french-inspired restaurant celebrating local ingredients.

According to its Kickstarter page, the restaurant raised $20,000 with 93 backers as of July 9.

Flora was originally set to close June 30, according to the Kickstarter page.
