Isis’ Landlord: ‘Banks Need Not Apply’

The owner of the Arlington Center property that is home to Isis Parenting is looking for a “community centered tenant” to fill the space, according to a Wednesday morning release.

“With the many new businesses opening in Arlington, like Kickstand Cafe, Menotomy Grill and Common Ground, I am confident we can get a vibrant tenant,” Erik Kondo, the property’s owner, said in a statement. “Banks need not apply.”

Isis Parenting, the baby store known for its childbirth and new-mom classes, has announced that it's closing all of its locations, including the one at 397 Mass. Ave. in Arlington that opened in 2006.

Kondo’s block-long building at 397 Mass. Ave., adjacent to Franklin Street, is also home to Helena’s, a women’s clothing boutique that opened in 2005, and the Music Studios of Arlington Center, which Kondo owns and is downstairs.

Kondo also owns Together in Motion in East Arlington and multiple other properties.

The 7,000-square-foot retail space at 397 Mass. Ave. has been home to Wild Women Outfitters and Wild Child in the past.
