From Kids to Seniors and Back Again, with Storyteller John Porcino at Council on Aging, Arlington
Intergenerational Storytelling Project, 3rd grade class, seniors led by John Porcino, - Tuesday May 26 1-2:30 pm / Thursday May 28 10:3
From Kids to Seniors and Back Again
Intergenerational Storytelling Project funded by the Arlington Cultural Council with John Porcino.
Starting Tuesday May 26, storyteller John Porcino is bringing this intergenerational storytelling project to Arlington, working with a 3rd grade class and seniors at the Council on Aging. John sees this as ”a magical program in which a circle of seniors tell their stories to a group of wide-eyed, smiling, and laughing children. With each word, the distance between the adults and kids become smaller. The synergy that happens is nothing short of magical, leaving the kids happy and the senior vibrating with life force.”

John meets with the children at their school and then the seniors at the Council on Aging separately on Tuesday, May 26 for storytelling workshops, at 1 pm at the Council on Aging with the seniors. Then on Thursday May 28 at the Council on Aging at 10:45 am, the kids and seniors join together to hear the seniors‘stories.
Seniors are needed to participate in this invigorating intergenerational project; call Marci Shapiro-Ide at 781-316-3419 to volunteer.
