Manhole Explosion on Pleasant Street

A manhole on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Pleasant Street exploded Monday afternoon, leaving part of the street without power while NStar worked to resolve the issue.

As of 7 p.m. June 12, Nstar was still on the scene, trying to identify the cause and restore power.

"We are continuing to investigate the cause," said Captain Robert Bongiorno of the Arlington Police Department.
