Although turkey is somewhat synonymous with Thanksgiving dinner it's not all about the Turkey. For many, (vegetarians I'm not just looking at you) folks are most grateful for the side dishes, appetizers and the pies — blueberry and chicken pot pies if you're from New England. A recent analysis of the most searched recipes leading up to the holiday show the most popular and unique items folks are considering making on the holiday.
In Massachusetts the most searched recipe on Thanksgiving? Cheesecake.
The list of the most popular Thanksgiving side dishes by state comes from sources American cooks have trusted for eons: General Mills pulled search data from BettyCrocker.com, Pillsbury.com and other recipe sites for the breakdown, and then The Daily Meal published the full list in all its glory state by state.

What can we learn from the list? Apparently it’s not Thanksgiving without sausage balls in Alabama and Tennessee, peanut butter cookies in Indiana or chicken spaghetti in Texas, Buffalo chicken dip — Thanksgiving Day football marathon, anyone? — was the top search in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
