Overnight Roadwork in Arlington Center to Begin Thursday Night

Here is what you need to know about the upcoming road work.

ARLINGTON, MA — As a part of the Arlington Center Safe Travel Project, the Department of Public Works and the Town's contractor will be conducting road work during overnight hours beginning Thursday night.

According to a public notice, the work will be done overnight to improve safety and minimize traffic disruptions.

Road milling work will begin Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.. Massachusetts Avenue will remain open, but travel will be re-directed to police officers to coordinate with the progress of paving operations.

Paving will begin on Oct. 16 and take place from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. The base coarse paving phase will occur on Oct. 16 and 17 and final paving phase will take place on Oct. 23 and 24. Massachusetts Avenue will remain open during both phases, but vehicles will be required to follow detour routes.
