About Pitching In For Kids: Pitching in for Kids, Inc. (PIFK) is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to providing specifically earmarked grants designed to improve the lives of children across the New England region. Tantamount to PIFKs efforts is the notion that children are our region’s most precious assets. As such, they must have access to information, education, recreation and advocacy at every juncture. Our areas neediest children find themselves without necessary resources, especially in this time of state cutbacks and fiscally conservative social program policies. Pitching in for Kids helps close funding gaps to ensure the identified children benefit from carefully targeted grants designed to address a very specific child-related need, project or program. About the Shane Victorino FoundationThe Shane Victorino Foundation (SVF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino and his wife, Melissa. SVF is dedicated to promoting opportunities for underserved youth by engaging in projects which provide children in need with educational, recreational and wellness programs. The Foundation’s signature project is the “Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club,” located in an impoverished area of Philadelphia. SVF contributed nearly $1 million towards renovating the century-old building. In Boston, SVF hosts the “Flyin’ Hawaiian All-Stars program,” providing a memorable day at the ballpark – complete with game tickets, T-shirts, concessions and the opportunity to meet Shane on the field – for local children’s groups. In Shane’s native Hawaii, the Foundation hosts an annual youth baseball clinic, has provided after-school programs and built a batting cage for youth baseball players.
