Police Log: Arrests and Assaults

Arrests

Monday, August 30

9:50 p.m. – James Stathakis, 25, of Swan Street, was arrested at his residence on a State Police warrant for armed robbery.

Thursday, September 2

5:30 p.m. – Dean Champion, 46, of Madison Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop on Massachusetts Avenue. He was wanted on a court warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, September 4

7:30 p.m. – Bruce Lynch, 30, of Malden, was arrested after a traffic stop on Massachusetts Avenue. Lynch was driving a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker and a revoked registration. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana.

10:20 p.m. – John Carvalho, 21, of Watertown, was arrested for breaking and entering, intimidating a witness, malicious destruction of property, possession of heroin and an outstanding court warrant. Police caught Carvalho breaking into his ex-girlfriend's residence on Wyman Terrace. He kicked in a rear door to gain entry.

Sunday, September 5

3:30 p.m. – Arseniy Kretkovsky, 22, of Hathaway Circle, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

Tuesday, September 7

6:25 p.m. – Daniel Rodriguez, 21, of Jamaica Plain, was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for police and a red-light violation. Later, police discovered that the car Rodriguez had been driving was stolen from an Avis Rent-A-Car in Boston. He was pulled over at the corner of Chestnut and Mystic streets.

Incidents

Thursday, September 2

1:25 p.m. – A 21-year-old man was walking down the Minuteman Bikeway with two females when someone yelled his name from a group of five males and an unknown number of females near Mill Street. The man continued, but he could hear the group following him. He ran, but eventually the males caught him, pushed him to the ground and kicked him 10 times. The man was taken to the hospital by a relative but did not suffer any broken bones. He did not identify his attackers.

Tuesday, September 7

9:35 p.m. – A woman was supposed to meet a male on Sunnyside Avenue to retrieve her items. When the male pulled up, he threw all of her belongings out of the car. The woman's boyfriend then got out of the car and allegedly punched the male. However, witness accounts varied on if a punch was ever thrown.
