Police Log: Bike Hits Car and Delusional Love Texts

6:30 p.m. - A man walking his dog behind Arlington High School reported someone urinating on a wall at the school. He called police, who responded by placing the man in protective custody.

10 p.m. -  A woman called the claiming she went to an unnamed church to discuss a rental property with a stack of paperwork that she left in her locked car. Upon returning home, she found the paperwork on her washer. "My daughter is playing mindgames with me," she told the police, though she refused to name her daughter she said lived in Newton.

July 16, 2010

3 p.m. - A woman called police after she sent $1,700 for a security deposit and first month of rent on an apartment in Jamaica Plain she saw on Craig's List. When the same people contacted her for the "rest of the year's rent," she traced back internet identification number to the United Kingdom. Police are still investigating.

7:30 p.m. - A woman called the police to report that her husband was being harrassed by a colleague. A 47-year-old Somerville woman has been texting the man continuously professing her love and insisting that they "tell his wife."

The reporting officer listened to her voicemail and the 19 text messages he had received over three days. "It appears this woman has a mental illness," said Captain Robert Bongiorno of the Arlington Police Department. Officers called the hospital to confirm she was a resident and advised the man to file charges in Cambridge.

July 18, 2010

9 p.m. - Officers responded to a call from 75 Broadway about a cyclist down. The cyclist was taken to Mount Auburn and treated for a head injury. It appears that the  2000 Toyota Camry was struck by the cyclist, witnesses at the scene told the officers who were unable to speak to cyclist. The matter is under investigation.
