Police Log: Car Break-In, Two Hit-and-Run Accidents

Car Broken Into on Fairmont Street

On Tuesday afternoon, were called to Fairmont Street to investigate a report of a break-in. The victim said her husband’s car was broken into and a key to a neighbor’s car was taken. She added there was a Leatherman tool in the car, though the owners had never seen it before.

Police noted the neighbor’s car was also broken into.

Car Struck on Massachusetts Avenue

Later that day, police were called to 231 Massachusetts Avenue to investigate a hit-and-run accident.

The victim said she was going slowly on Massachusetts Avenue, looking for a parking space, when she noticed a spot on the other side of the street. She began to turn and was hit by a car on the driver’s side. The driver never stopped.

The victim said she hit her head on the windshield. Her daughter, who was in the back of the car, reported no injuries.

Same Day, Another Hit-and-Run Accident

Police on Tuesday were called to a home on Broadway to investigate a past hit and run. The victim said someone hit his car on the passenger side while he was traveling on Massachusetts Avenue. He added he was trying to maintain control of his car and was unable to pay attention to the other car, which fled the area.
