Police Log: Fire Ladder Damaged, Alleged Threats Over Wrong Paint

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the on Monday, Jan. 23. 

Fire Ladder Damaged

10:55 a.m. - The reported that two tires on a ladder truck were damaged. Officials said they don’t know what object caused the damage, but the incident was recorded by police as malicious destruction of property.

The vehicle ”looked funny” driving up Mystic Avenue after firefighters returned from a training exercise, firefighters said according to the police report. The damage is estimated to be $800.

Wrong Paint Leads to Alleged Threats

1:30 p.m. - A Wachusett Avenue resident reported to police he was threatened at . The resident said he believed he was exchanging a can of paint and should not pay for it, after he allegedly got the wrong mix of colors from the store.

The resident said a store employee told him he should pay for the mistake. The customer added the store employee got aggressive and followed him out to the parking lot.

Later, a witness told police the customer was “completely the primary aggressor.” The witness added, “he was completely out of line and was just trying not to pay for his mistake.”

The employee said the customer "got in his face" and the employee was "afraid he was going to hit him," according to the report.
