Police Log: Thieves Target iPods and GPS Units
Two car thefts in the past week in the same lot have officers reminding the public about locking car doors.
The lot at 266 Broadway in Arlington has been a hotbed of motor vehicle break-ins this week.
On July 13, officers were called to 260 Broadway by a 44-year-old Arlington resident who was parked in the lot at 266 Broadway. Although, there were no damage to his vehicle, his Garmin GPS and iPod were both missing from the front seat.He could not recall whether he had locked the car, said Captain Robert Bongiorno of the Arlington Police Department.
The night before a satellite radio was taken fromt the same lot, Bongiorno said.

"Locking the car is a great deterrent to prevent thefts," said Bongiorno. "Also, don't keep any valuables in the car or leave any evidence of owning a GPS like the suction cups or wires. We have many thefts of these units."
