Everett street is a calm, fairly large road with a wonderful school, called Thompson Elementary, by its side but potholes ravage this street when connecting to Broadway with thin sidewalks and deep craters in the road which have been there for years. No attempt has been made to solve this dilemma and personal experience has brought the gravity of this situation forth. I, Sonali Kumar live on Yale road, a small side street right off Everett, I ride my bike to the bus stop in the mornings on this road and have to barely dodge large, gaping holes to avoid falling. This road is a trip hazard to bikes and cars alike because of the narrow side walks which makes using them for a bike impossible and bikers are forced to the roads where veering left and right is the only way to avoid face planting. The few times where I have not been able to avoid these potholes resulted in a shaky front wheel and stopping abruptly in the road. Cars are heavily at risk as well on this road with sharp objects ready to pierce the tires at every unavoidable hole. Driving should not feel like a rollercoaster therefore, this road needs to be fixed. Another issue that needs to be brought into the light is the side walks, in addition to the paths being unbearably narrow they are also scarred with long thick cracks running in-between almost all of them. Kids scootering to school also walk their scooters and i’ve seen it with my own eyes. At least the farther end of this road needs to be fixed if not the whole road. The peoples safety depends on it.
