Public Hearing on Arlington Medical Marijuana Dispensary Announced

ARLINGTON, MA — The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the medical marijuana dispensary proposed for 11 Water Street in Arlington, according to a Town of Arlington legal notice.

According to the notice, a public hearing and special permit review on the proposed medical marijuana facility will be held on Aug. 22 in the Main Room of the Arlington Senior Center. The Massachusetts Patient Foundation is currently applying to set up a facility at 11 Water Street Unit 3B, located in the same building as Arlington Pediatrics.

The Arlington Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to approve a community benefit agreement with the Massachusetts Patient Foundation (MPF), which takes additional steps in the process of bringing a facility to town.

According to the agreement, MPF will pay three percent of its retail sales to Arlington, as well as a one-time payment of $100,000 within one week of opening. MPF is also required to submit annual financial records to the town, as well as any filings with the Massachusetts Department of Health.

The Arlington Board of Health began discussing draft regulations for the sale of medical marijuana in Arlington in February.
