Robbins Farm Park Improvements Meeting Set for Saturday
The proposed improvements include the rehabilitation of the baseball field, providing ADA access and more.

ARLINGTON, MA — The first public meeting on the improvements at Robbins Farm Park is set for this Saturday at the park. Residents are urged to meet at the kiosk by the entrance to the playground, and the meeting will take place rain or shine (unless there is severe weather).
The group will walk the park, and the meeting will run from 10 a.m. to noon.
Funding for the project has been approved under the Community Preservation Act, under the Open Space and Recreational Land designation. A brief scope of improvements include the following:

- Rehabilitate the baseball and multi-purpose sports field (youth soccer/lacrosse/ultimate Frisbee), which will include new turf, irrigation, drainage and associated amenities; provide a new multi-use sport/basketball court
- Provide ADA access for the entire park, including the new public display of the historic Robbins farmhouse location and dog statue (statue and plaque to be funded and procured by the Friends of Robbins Farm Park) and the Robbins Farm cooperative community gardens;
- Upgrade Robbins Farm cooperative/community gardens to provide ADA compliance and more permanent features for a program that began as a pilot program in 2010 (labor to be provided by community gardeners). Note: this plan does not include any renovations to the existing playground.
