Ten New Parking Spots for the Capitol Theatre

Hardy Elementary School will now be extra parking for the theatre at night.

On Monday night, the Arlington Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the use of 10 parking spots at the Hardy Elementary School in East Arlington for use by the Capitol Theatre.

"We are trying to alleviate some of the congestion when there is an event," Capitol Theatre owner Richard Fraiman told the board, calling it a "practical solution."

Though the spots will still be a couple blocks from the Capitol, Fraiman expects it to be convenient way to free up some of the parking on Massachusetts Avenue. The contract will cost the Capitol Theatre $520 per calendar year and Fraiman said he expects the lot to be mostly utilized by employees.
