Things Are Getting Hairy At The Arlington Police Department

Arlington police officers are growing out their scruff to support cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital.

ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington police officers are putting the razors down this month in support of cancer research. The Arlington Police Department got the go-ahead from Acting Chief Juliann Flaherty to participate in No Shave November for a good cause.

Participating officers have each donated $100 to support cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital. They are also accepting donations from the public.

"Many Arlington Police Officers have had their lives touched by cancer recently. This includes one of our own, Lieutenant Dan Kelly," the fundraiser reads. "Family members of Police Sergeant Scott Paradis and Officer Daniel Styffe are also battling cancer at this time. As you can imagine, we want to support each other during their time of need and fight cancer the only way we can, by supporting cancer research and one of the hospitals that has supported our officers during this process, Massachusetts General Hospital."
