Touchdown Club of Arlington raises $1,051 for children of Ukraine

“Children have the least to say and are the most impacted by wars.” Those were the first words spoken by Leigh Montville, the guest speaker at the last Touchdown Club of Arlington meeting. Everyone should pause and think about that. A powerful comment from a famed writer whose career has taken him around the world. Seeing the news coming out of Ukraine, the members of The Touchdown Club of Arlington wanted to help. $1,051 in donations were collected from members and attendees at the last meeting. 100% of the donations were sent to the UNICEF USA’s effort to help the children of Ukraine.

"Our loyal members join The Touchdown Club of Arlington because they deeply believe in the value that our local communities bring to our lives. Now being able to contribute back, they want to do their part to help." said Frank Doherty, this year's President. "The atrocities happening in Ukraine remind us that we are all part of a larger, global community. Just as our members believe in helping the Arlington community, they feel a need to help these people, and especially the most vulnerable…. the children of Ukraine."
