The Arlington Police Department is selling patches and t-shirts to raise money for the Sanborn Foundation, a local charity that helps Arlington residents suffering from cancer. The foundation provides residents transportation to their doctor’s appointments and helps pay for expenses related to cancer care. The Sanborn Foundation is particularly important to the Arlington Police Department, as it has assisted two department members in the past.
During October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Arlington Police Officers are encouraged to replace their standard shoulder patch with a pink patch as a reminder of the Department’s commitment to raising awareness.
Residents are able to purchase patches or t-shirts during the month of October, by visiting the Arlington Police Department, located at 112 Mystic St, Arlington. Patches cost $10, t-shirts are $20; cash, Venmo @APDReliefAssoc or check payable to: Arlington Police Relief Assoc. is accepted. For Venmo purchases, please note “pink patch” or “pink t-shirt” in the transaction. Please also note whether you would like the patch shipped to you and if so, provide your shipping address. We will not be shipping t-shirts however; they are available to be picked up at the station 24/7 for your convenience.
