In her continuing efforts to keep the public informed, and with the help of ACMi, Arlington Police Chief Julie Flaherty will provide monthly updates on police initiatives and activities. In this inaugural episode of APD Updates, Chief Flaherty gives some background on her career and her Arlington roots and shares her vision for the department. She also reflects on policing during the pandemic, signing on to the 30x30 Initiative with the NYU School of Law to reach a goal of 30% of women in the workforce by 2030, and training around hate crime response and reporting through the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
