The newly-formed Civic Engagement Group, developed under the auspices of the Envision Arlington Standing Committee, invites you to its first event: a brain-storming session with Lenard Diggins, member of the Select Board. In his own words:

I think of this session as an interactive form of the Select Board's Open Forum.  Beyond that, though, I would like to meet with residents not only to identify concerns, both general and specific, but also to explore ways to make Arlington an even more vibrant, resilient, and sustainable community.  We can brainstorm ideas that I can discuss with the Town Manager and Town Staff, but better yet, let's try to come up with ideas that we as residents can develop and execute on our own. We can even start thinking of ideas that would work as articles in the warrant for the next Town Meeting.  Additionally, in an effort to make civic engagement more collaborative than prescriptive, I very much want to hear from residents about the ideas they have for increasing civic engagement.

In this initial session, let's try to put lots of ideas on the table.  We'll decide what to do with some of these ideas as well as generate more ideas in subsequent sessions.

The meeting via Zoom  will take place on Monday, July 26 from 7:00-8:30 PM.  Please register in advance for this meeting:
