Municipalities across the nation are the beneficiaries of a significant influx of federal funds via the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). ARPA is intended to address the negative health and economic impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In Arlington, we expect to receive approximately $34,000,000 in funds.

At the Arlington Select Board Meeting on August 9, 2021 the Board voted to approve accepting these funds, plus endorsing the immediate spending of $1.6M for current water/sewer needs and $50K to be awarded to the Housing Corporation of Arlington for their Homelessness Prevention Program.

For the rest of the spending we have outlined initial plans in the eligible categories that the Town hopes will have a meaningful and lasting impact on Arlington. We’d like to offer Arlington residents an opportunity to provide feedback on our plans for spending ARPA funding, which has specific eligibility requirements. To provide an overview of how ARPA funding may be spent and how Arlington plans to spend it, please view this presentation by Arlington Town Manager, Adam Chapdelaine.
