What Roads Are Scheduled to be Rehabilitated This Year in Arlington?

Residents in these areas should expect some on-street parking restrictions to allow for construction activities and equipment.

Arlington’s Department of Public Works will be rehabilitating various roads this year as part of the town’s Capital Improvement Program.The work will be coordinated and monitored by the DPW and performed by town’s paving contractor.

Work will typically consist of road milling, leveling, casting adjustments, and/or re-surfacing, and will begin as soon as the necessary contract documents are finalized and in conjunction with the contractor’s schedule.

Work will continue throughout the 2015 construction season and will resume again in Spring 2016. Flyers will be distributed to notify residents in the specific areas prior to work starting.

Residents in these areas should expect some on-street parking restrictions to allow for construction activities and equipment. The contractor will make every effort to keep inconveniences to a minimum and traffic police details will be present to aid in driveway access/egress and roadway safety.

The following list indicates the street location for the upcoming projects. These dates are subject to change due to weather conditions and scheduling changes. The project areas listed below are tentative and may change due to scheduling or budgetary reasons.

2015 Road Rehabilitation Projects

Appleton Street,partial; Appleton Place, partial; Addison Street; Columbia Road; Lowell Street, partial; Mystic Street, partial; Oakhill Drive; Overlook Road, partial; Ronald Road; Virginia Road; Wollaston Avenue, partial; Campbell Road; Sleepy Hollow Lane; Twin Circle Drive; Winchester Road, partial; Stone Road, partial; Greenwood Road; West Street; Tanager Road; Aberdeen Road; Inverness Road; Newland Road; Sunset Road, partial; Huntington Road; Cypress Road; and Alpine Terrace.

Completed Road Rehabilitation Projects

Farrington Street, Glen Avenue, Hayes Street, Maynard Street, Mystic Lake Drive, Orchard Terrace, Rangeley Road and Sherborn Street.

Residents are requested to observe on-street roadway postings and detour signs. Traffic message boards will be used to aid traffic management efforts when available. Residents traveling through these areas should plan accordingly, allow for travel delays, and should consider alternative routes when possible.
