What's Open, Closed In Arlington On Christmas Day

We have everything you need to know, including the trash pick-up schedule for the holiday week.

ARLINGTON, MA – Arlington Town Hall, administrative and libraries will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1.

There will be no trash or recycling collections on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. There will be a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. Tuesday's collection will be picked up on Wednesday, and the Friday pick-up will be collected on Saturday.

Here's where it gets tricky. Many restaurants, retail stores, and grocery stores will be closed, but not all. Here are some details on a few to get you started:

Retail stores:

  • CVS
    • Christmas Eve: Most stores open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Christmas Day: Most stores open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (excludes stores inside Target).

Supermarkets

  • Shaw's/Star Market
    • Christmas Eve: Most stores typically close a few hours early
    • Christmas Day: Closed
  • Trader Joe's
    • Christmas Eve: All stores close at 6 p.m.
    • Christmas Day: Closed
  • Whole Foods
    • Christmas Eve: All stores will have limited hours. Hours vary by location.
    • Christmas Day: Closed.
  • Wegmans
    • Christmas Eve: Stores will close at 6 p.m.
    • Christmas Day: Closed
