2 Attleboro Firefighters Hospitalized After Overnight Blaze
Seven residents were displaced by the three-alarm fire on Virginia Meadows Drive in Attleboro.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Two Attleboro firefighters were hospitalized, and seven residents displaced, after crews knocked down a three-alarm fire on Virginia Meadows Drive late Monday night. Attleboro Fire Chief Scott Lachance said the two firefighters suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital, but are expected to be OK.
Attleboro fire responded to the home about 11 Monday night and found heavy flames exiting all windows. Lachance said crews began an aggressive attack and were able to get the fire under control by around midnight.
Seven residents had escaped safely before firefighters arrived and the American Red Cross is helping them with temporary housing. Lachance said the home is a total loss.

Firefighters from the Norton Fire Department provided mutual aid, with crews from Pawtucket, R.I. and North Attleboro providing station coverage while crews were on the road.

Lachance said the Attleboro Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
