Attleboro Man With Car Full Of Drugs Ran From Traffic Stop: Cops

Officers found an abundance of cannabis-related products, as well as hallucinogenic mushrooms in the car, police said.

ATTLEBORO — An Attleboro ran from the law after he was pulled over while driving a car full of drugs, police said.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Officer Michael Seibold attempted to stop a Nissan Sentra driven by a man with a suspended license on West Street, the Attleboro police said in a media release.

The driver, Keyshawn Johnson, 28, "attempted to evade the officer by turning off West Street onto adjoining side streets, ultimately stopping on Ashton Road before exiting the vehicle," the release said

Johnson then made a run for it, disregarding commands to stop but the officer quickly caught up to him, according to the release.

"Once caught, Johnson refused to comply with the officer’s attempts to place him into handcuffs and take him into custody," the release said.

"Johnson continued to resist arrest, physically pulling away from the officer," according to the release. "At this point, the officer deployed pepper spray. The pepper spray worked and Johnson was handcuffed and taken into custody."

The subsequent inventory of the vehicle Johnson had been driving "revealed that he was in possession of approximately 6.2 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, 194 THC “vape” cartridges, seven bags of marijuana gummy edibles, a jar containing 2 pounds 6.5 ounces of marijuana, over $1,000 in cash, two cellular phones and digital scales," the release said.

Johnson was booked on charges of operating with a suspended license, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, according to the release.
