Grace Baptist Girls' Basketball Team Posts Victory Over Dayspring
Grace Baptist and Dayspring Christian Academy girls' basketball teams will be meeting again Friday afternoon.
Grace Baptist Christian Academy of Attleboro scored the final five points Monday afternoon to record an exciting 23-18 victory over rival Dayspring Christian Academy in a non-league girls’ basketball game.
Hannah Johnson swished a 15-foot jump shot late in the fourth quarter, Kelly Nichols canned a pair of free throws, and Johnson added a solo charity toss as the visiting Centurions staved off the host Eagles in the first-ever meeting between the two Attleboro Christian schools.

GBCA twice assumed eight-point leads in the second half until DCA roared back to tie the score at 18-18 in the final period on a basket by Samantha Souza. The Centurions’ defense then shut out the Eagles the rest of the way while Johnson and Nichols provided their essential offensive firepower.
Nichols topped all scorers with eight points, while teammate Rachel Allen added six points, Johnson finished with five points, and Arianna Patterson and Jessica Rodrigues both contributed two points. For DCA, Souza was its top point-producer with six points, while Ava Gomes canned four points and Sydney Dyer, Kristen Petagna, Hannah Fayard and Liana Derr all ended with two points.

GBCA and DCA will meet again Friday at 4:30 p.m. on the Eagles’ home court.
