Frog Pond Opening Postponed to Friday
The Wednesday event was cancelled because of rain.

Because of forecasted rain, the opening of the Boston Common's Frog Pond wading pool has been postponed until this Friday at 11 a.m.
The day will kick off with a celebration and will be followed by the opening of the wading pool immediately after the ceremony, according to a press release from the city's Parks Department.Β

In addition, information regarding upcoming summer programs offered by the City of Boston and the Boston Health Commissionβs βBoston Moves for Healthβ initiative will be available to families and residents, and treats will be provided by in-kind sponsors H.P. Hood LLC, Nantucket Nectars, Snapple and the original Boston Frosty.
The celebration will feature a special visit from official mascot Frog Pond Freddie, entertainment, arts and crafts activities, Fuel Up to Play 60 program activities featuring Hood Milk, face painting, Read Boston book giveaways, and activities and giveaways from media sponsor Mix 104.1. Everyone is eligible to enter a summer raffle for a chance to win great prizes.

Families will also be able to enjoy a ride on the Boston Common Carousel. The Carousel is handicapped-accessible and has height requirements: anyone 42 inches or taller can ride alone; anyone shorter than 42 inches requires the presence of an adult. Admission for the ride is $3 with 10-ticket strips available for $25.
Hours of operation will be Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.Β Information on additional activities offered at the Frog Pond can be found by visiting www.bostonfrogpond.com.Β
The Frog Pond spray pool will be open for wading daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Labor Day. The facility is managed by The Skating Club of Boston and staffed by youth workers from the Boston Youth Fund. For further information, please call the Frog Pond at (617) 635-2120.
