2,000+ In MA Without Power After Tornado Warning
Severe storms knocked out power in southeastern Massachusetts. On Cape Cod, the storms prompted a tornado warning.
Some 2,500 are without power Tuesday morning following a tornado warning and severe thunderstorm warning in the southeastern part of the state. According to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the outages are primarily along Cape Cod, where a tornado warning was in effect from 10 to 10:45 p.m. Other outages are scattered along Middlesex, Norfolk and Suffolk counties, as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The most outages are in Holbrook, which has more than 700 in the dark. There are more than 500 without power in Wellfleet.
The weather Monday night turned ominous, with lightning, thunder and heavy wind gusts accompanying downpours. No tornadoes were reported.

Another bout of heavy rain is expected across Massachusetts in the next several hours. A flash flood watch remains in effect for Southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape until 2 p.m., and the rest of eastern Massachusetts will be under a hazardous weather outlook.
