2 Men Arrested After Stabbing In Hyannis

A man remains in critical condition after a stabbing Saturday in the area of Old Colony Road and Main Street.

HYANNIS, MA — Two men were arrested in connection to a Saturday morning stabbing in Hyannis, according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office.

Kenneth Chisholm, 34, of Mashpee, and Joseph France, 33, of Hyannis were arraigned Monday at Barnstable District Court. Chisholm was charged with armed assault to murder and is being held without bail/ France was charged with accessory after the fact and had his bail set at $1,000.

The stabbing victim remains in critical condition, according to police. Barnstable police have not released the victim's identity.

Police said the stabbing happened around 1 a.m. in the area of Old Colony Road and Main Street.

Police said they found a group of three people standing over a man laying on the ground, suffering from stab wounds.

Emergency officials brought the man to Cape Cod Hospital. Police said he was later airlifted to Boston Medical Center.

Chisholm will return to court for a dangerousness hearing on Friday. France is scheduled to return to court May 23, authorities said.
