AFCC Executive Director Appointed to Massachusetts Cultural Council

Kevin M. Howard was chosen as one of five new council members.

Governor Deval Patrick appointed Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Executive Director Kevin Howard to the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

"These five new members are dedicated advocates for the arts, humanities, and sciences, whose diverse experiences will help strengthen the Cultural Council and the Commonwealth as a whole," said Governor Patrick. "I am pleased to give them an opportunity to serve through the Massachusetts Cultural Council."

Howard, a Chatham resident, is the Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. During his previous tenure as President and Executive Director of the Cape Cod Conservatory of Music & Arts, he helped to lead the merger of the school with the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra creating the largest arts organization in the region.

"I am honored to have been chosen to work with the MCC's Board of Directors in its mission of promoting and building the economic and qualitative impact of the arts in the Commonwealth," Howard said about his appointment.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) is a state agency that promotes excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.
