Cotuit Center for the Arts 2012 Season Preview

Cotuit Center for the Arts has announced an exciting and ambitious 2012 season and program of work, including music, theater, art, education and special community events that will excite every taste and age group. 

The multiple stage, gallery and classroom venue on Route 28 in Cotuit will be host to a wide variety of programs including:

  • Musicals – Starting in February 2012  “Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris”, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Cabaret” and “Willy Wonka
  • Theater – Starting April 2012, “Doubt”, “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” and “12 Angry Men”
  • Film – Starting in February 2012  a film series collaboration with Woods Hole Film Festival, “Best of the Fest” to be shown on the Center’s new 28 foot screen, projector and sound system.
  • Black Box Theater – Starting in January 2012 “Happy Endings” written and performed by Jane Perkins, “Riders to the Sea” by William Synge, “And Then What Happened?” written and performed by Melinda Gallant, and summer 2012 local favorites Larry Marsland and Christine Rathbun return with provocative one-person shows.
  • Music – Starting in March, 2012 fourteen headlined performances are already scheduled throughout the year with more to come.
  • Art – Nine exhibits are already scheduled beginning with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod “Wild Things” exhibit from January 7, 2012 through February 12, 2012
  • Education – Starting in February 2012 a full schedule of art, music, theater, dance and writing classes will provide fun and creative experiences for all ages to enjoy.
  • Wine and Music Wednesdays – This popular open house live music and wine tasting will take place on the third Wednesday night of every month beginning in January 2012.
  • Art Barn Songwriter Series – Partnering with “Trespass Music”, local and national musicians will bring their talents to the Center on the fourth Monday night of every month from March through November.
  • Third Fret Coffeehouse – Again partnering with “Trespass Music”, four dates are already set with acclaimed headliners and opening acts beginning with Danielle Miraglia and Patrick Fitzsimmons on January 14, 2012
  • Special Cotuit Center for the Arts community events including the 12th Annual Poetry and Chili Fest on February 25, 2012; Entertainment Tonight! on July 21, 2012 and the 12th Annual Arts and Souls Halloween Ball on October 27, 2012. More events will add to this list as 2012 unfolds.
