HyArts District First Designated Cultural Spot on Cape

Tuesday afternoon, the Massachusetts Cultural Council Board officially named the downtown Hyannis area as the Cape’s first state designated cultural district. 

The town and its partners the Cape Cod Art Association, Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce and the  Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District have been working for months on the extensive application process.

In addition to state wide and national marketing opportunities, the HyArts Cultural District will work with the MCC and partners to further develop current arts related economic development strategies, including encouraging business and job growth and expanding tourism. 

This designation will help to enhance and grow the already successful arts and culture programs and events in the HyArts Cultural District.
