Veterans’ Day Remembrance

On Friday Veterans will be honored at the annual Veteran's Day Parade and on Saturday Governor Deval Patrick will honor at a ceremony at at 1 pm.

The Veterans’ Day Parade will form on the Village Green  at 9:30 am on Friday, November 11, 2011 and kick-off sharply at 10 am.   

The parade will proceed onto South Street heading east to Old Colony Boulevard, heading north to Main Street  then turning west up Main Street to the Village Green.   

A special Veterans’ Day Program will include the placement of wreaths at monuments will begin at the Bandstand immediately following the parade.   

This year, a special sign dedication for American Legion 206 will immediately follow the Village Green Ceremonies at Veterans’ Park.

The parade in Hyannis will have a special remembrance for fallen Navy Seal Kevin Houston.

On Saturday at 1 pm at Barnstable High there is a celebration of the life of Kevin Houston organized by family and friends of Kevin. The public is invited to all these events honoring our veterans.

Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of Veterans Services Coleman Nee will attend next Saturday's event. CPO Houston's family, including his wife, children, and mother will travel from Chesapeake, Virginia for this ceremony.  Friends and family have carefully and lovingly planned this special celebration to honor Houston's life and service to our country.
