Water Works Construction on Stevens Street and High School Road Extension

The Town of Barnstable, Department of Public Works, Water Supply Division would like to notify residents about the start of a water works construction project that will improve the water quality and fire flows for customers of the Hyannis Water System.

This project will replace and upgrade the water mains on Stevens Street and High School Road Extension. Included in the project are the replacement of valves, fire hydrants and customer water services up to the property line. Temporary bypass water services will be installed at certain locations to minimize customer inconvenience. The water main construction is anticipated to be finalized before the summer

Two weeks before an anticipated water service interruption the area residents will be given a notice by the contractor. The specific notices will be distributed to the residents affected by shut-downs, indicating time and day of each shut-down.
