Wits End Arts, a new, portable theater troupe, presents their inaugural production “Christmas Punch” at Cotuit Center for the Arts, opening December 2 through December 18.
“Christmas Punch” is a festive concoction with a wicked kick. Wits End Arts will present a reading of Robert Benchley’s classic essay “Christmas Afternoon in the Manner if Not the Style of Dickens”, followed by the one-act play “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society’s Production of A Christmas Carol,” by David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Jr. — about a wildly inept production of “A Christmas Carol” staged by a community women’s group.
Laura Garner is artistic director and founder/CEO of the Wits End Arts. Garner, a director and actress, formerly ran Theatre on the Bay in Bourne from 1984 to 1999 and has since been active as writer in the Falmouth Theatre Guild and Cotuit Center for the Arts productions. The evening features performances by Diane Quaid, Teri Doyle, Glenn Wall, Hannah Carrita, and Cleo Zani.
