Asbestos Discovered At Cape Cod Hotel Hit By Tornado
The roof getting blown off was just the start of the Cape Sands Inn's problems.

YARMOUTH, MA — Cleanup at a Cape Cod hotel that lost part of its roof to a tornado last week will take longer than expected. The owners of the Cape Sands Inn hoped to continue operating two sections of the hotel, but cleanup at the site revealed new issues that will keep the inn closed for the rest of the season.
According to the Cape Cod Times, the sprinkler system and other key controls are located in the damaged wing, shutting down all 67 rooms. Inspectors then found asbestos in the building material on Friday.
Cleanup is going to take at least five weeks. Owner Bobby Kahn, who bought the former Howard Johnson's last year and invested in extensive renovations and improvements, told the Times this season is a "total loss."
