Barnstable County Coronavirus Update: Cases Rise To 1,068
There are 1,068 residents cases of the new coronavirus in Barnstable County as of Monday morning.

BARNSTABLE, MA – There are 1,068 residents cases of the new coronavirus in Barnstable County as of Monday morning, according to the Barnstable Department of Health. A total of 243 Town of Barnstable residents have tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, as of Monday morning.
Nearly 78,000 people in Massachusetts have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Sunday afternoon, according to Massachusetts Department of Health data. According to the data, there have been 139 additional deaths, bringing to total number of deaths statewide to 4,979. Sixty-eight of those deaths since the beginning of the crisis were in Barnstable County
There were 1,050 newly reported cases in the state since data was released Sunday afternoon, and 810 confirmed cases are currently in ICU.

The percentage of positive coronavirus tests and hospitalizations hit their lowest marks yet in the state's daily update. There were 11,852 new tests reported Sunday, and just 9 percent came back positive. There were 3,128 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, representing 4 percent of all cases. That's the lowest amount of hospitalizations since the state started counting suspected cases.
