Barnstable Fire Rescues Teens After Kayak Capsizes
The teen's boat capsized on Middle Pond and couldn't be brought to shore on its own because of high winds.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Firefighters rescued two teenagers after their kayak capsized in a Barnstable pond Tuesday.
Around 3 p.m., firefighters were called to Middle Pond after witnesses reported seeing an overturned kayak.
Fire officials said they found two teens holding onto a kayak being operated by a third person. Both teens were wearing life jackets, according to fire officials.

Fire officials said the boat couldn't make it to shore because of high winds, so firefighters used a rescue boat to bring everyone to shore.
The teens were evaluated at the scene, but declined going to the hospital, according to officials.
