Barnstable High School Students Win 4 Student Emmy Awards

Video students at Barnstable High School took home four wins and three honorable mentions at the Student Emmy Awards.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Video students at Barnstable High School took home four wins and three honorable mentions at the Student Emmy Awards.

The Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presents these awards annually and are a part of the same professional organization that runs the Emmys.

“I am so proud of our talented students, Jim Gilbert, the television educational coordinator at Barnstable High School, said. "These awards are well-deserved. The success at this year’s awards represents the hard work of our staff and the quality educational design of our program."

The awards were announced online on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 with a special messagefrom Chapter president Danielle Mannion and Boston 25 News anchor Daniel Miller.

The student production awards are typically presented during the annual “Lights, Camera, Action: Television and Film Conference” at Millis High School, but due to the new coronavirus outbreak, the conference and awards ceremony were canceled this year.
