Barnstable Stabbing Suspect Sought After Early Morning Attack

BARNSTABLE, MA — A Marston Mills man is accused of stabbing a woman numerous times in the arm, face and chest outside of her Barnstable home early Saturday morning.

Police said the victim identified Michael Harrington, 34, as the man who attacked her at about 1:30 a.m.

Police said Harrington is wanted on a warrant for assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. They were still searching for Harrington as of late Saturday morning.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Plymouth Beth Isreal Deaconess Hospital before she was then Medflighted to a Boston hospital.

Police said they were called about 1:30 a.m. after a man reported he was on the phone with the victim when she said she was being attacked and the phone disconnected. They said they arrived at the women's Marston Mills home to find her screaming for help on her front steps.

Officers Nelson Souve and Nolan O'Melia found her with "numerous stab wounds." O'Melia began treating the wounds. while Souve searched the house to ensure the victim's aunt and children were safe and the suspect was not in the home.
