Barnstable Students Raise Money For Domestic Violence Victims
Barnstable students have partnered with Funds2orgs, which collects gently-worn shoes, and turns them into fundraising dollars.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Three seniors at Barnstable High School enrolled in the business, management and leadership course are raising money to support local victims of domestic violence. Abigail Al-Asousi, Neilie Fromhein and Caroline Badot have partnered with Funds2orgs, an organization that collects gently-worn shoes, and turns them into fundraising dollars.
Each pound of shoes donated raised 40 cents for Safe Harbor.
"Our goal is to collect about 2,500 pairs of shoes," Al-sousi said. "That would be $1,000 for Safe Harbor, which would do so much to help a great resource in our local community. We thought it was such a great cause and wanted to do something to give back before graduation."
