Ron Beaty Signs ‘The 1776 Pledge’ to Restore Honest, Patriotic Education in Cape Cod Area Schools, and Massachusetts

Barnstable County Commissioner Candidate Ronald Beaty commits to opposing Critical Race Theory,
anti-American indoctrination in K-12 classrooms

April 8, 2022 - Cape Cod, MA: As parents and concerned citizens continue their fight to combat radical, anti-American curriculum in K-12 classrooms, Ronald Beaty, Republican candidate for Barnstable County Commissioner, committed to taking tangible steps to reestablish honest, patriotic education by signing “The 1776 Pledge to Save Our Schools” from 1776 Action.
Beaty joins over 300 candidates and current elected officials throughout America, such as current South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, who have also signed the Pledge. Beaty is among an expanding number of political candidates who realize that parental rights in education, and quality education in this country must be restored.
Pledge signers commit to taking purposeful steps to:
· Restore honest, patriotic education that cultivates in our children a profound love for our country.
· Promote a curriculum that teaches that all children are created equal, have equal moral value under God, our Constitution, and the law, and are members of a national community united by our founding principles.
· Prohibit any curriculum that pits students against one another based on race or sex.
· Prevent schools from politicizing education by prohibiting any curriculum that requires students to protest and lobby during or after school.

County Commissioner Candidate Ronald Beaty issued the following statement about his decision to sign the 1776 Pledge:

"Critical Race Theory is radical and fraudulent and has no place in our schools. I am proud to sign ‘The 1776 Pledge’ and commit to helping restore fact-based, patriotic education to our classrooms. Moreover, I was proud to learn that this nation-wide effort is growing day-by-day to ban CRT and as County Commissioner I'll do all I can to aid in this movement. We need schools that teach children skills they need to be part of the 21st Century workforce, not produce new social justice warriors.”
Beaty continued, “I am an ardent proponent and strong supporter of parental rights in education and a passionate opponent of Critical Race Theory and other anti-American propaganda. As a former County Commissioner, I know first-hand what it will take to restore integrity to our Cape Cod Regional Government, and area school systems, and I am deeply motivated to support this mission.”
1776 Action launched in March 2021 to combat anti-American indoctrination in K-12 schools with support from Dr. Ben Carson (a former member of the 1776 Commission) and Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Through targeted messaging campaigns, the group has helped to advance anti-CRT policies across the country, most notably in Virginia, New Hampshire, and Iowa.
