Cape Cod Man Charged In Crash That Left Teenager Dead: Police
The teenager who died is identified as John Hughan, 14, of Norwell. An 81-year-old faces a vehicular homicide by negligent operation charge.
YARMOUTH, MA — One person was charged in the Cape Cod crash that killed a Massachusetts teenager in August, Yarmouth police announced.
Peter Richmond, 81, of Yarmouth Port, is charged with vehicular homicide by negligent operation.
On Aug. 30, a truck towing a boat trailer had pulled to the side of the roadway with a broken axle and passengers had gotten out of the car attempting to fix it, police said. A Cadillac SUV traveling south on North Main Street struck the boat trailer from behind, causing it to hit the people working on the damaged axle, police said.

That crash left a 14-year-old dead, who has since been identified as John Hughan, of Norwell. Others involved in the crash were seriously injured, police said.
At the time of the crash, Richmond remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
