Cape Cod Man Charged With OUI After Driving On Sidewalk: PD
Police said the car crossed the center line multiple times and was driving well below the speed limit on Route 28.
YARMOUTH, MA — A Dennis man was charged with drugged driving after going up on a sidewalk in Yarmouth, police said. A caller reported a gray Ford Explorer was driving erratically on Route 28 East around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
At one point, the SUV went up on the sidewalk, according to police. Officers found the vehicle traveling between 17 and 20 mph in 25-mph and 35-mph zones and straddling the double yellow lines, police said.
The SUV was stopped near Sheridan Way. The driver, 38-year-old Timothy Smith, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of drugs and a marked lanes violation. He will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court Thursday.
