Cape Man Breaks Into Home, Threatens To Kill Resident: Police

The resident used a baseball bat to defend their self from Robert Dillon, of Yarmouth, according to police.

PEMBROKE, MA — A Yarmouth man was arrested after police said he broke into someone's house in Pembroke and threatened to kill the resident after they tried defending themself with a baseball bat.

Robert Dillon, 28, was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony and threatening to commit a crime.

Pembroke police said the break-in happened around 6:10 a.m., Friday, at a house on Center Street. One resident held Dillon at bay with a baseball bat, which caused him to threaten to kill the resident if they came any closer, police said. Another resident in the home escaped to the roof during the altercation.

Police said they are looking into two other break-ins that may be related. Around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, a Priscilla Drive resident told officers they awoke to the sound of someone trying to break into her house. The resident also told police she found fresh, wet footprints on her front porch.

And around 7 a.m., Friday, Pembroke fire officials said they spoke to a second Center Street resident, who thought they saw a man on their property earlier Friday morning
