WATCH: Coast Guard Rescues Sick Fisherman Off Coast Of Cape Cod
The Coast Guard crew traveled 113 miles by helicopter to rescue the 50-year-old fisherman from New Jersey.

HYANNIS, MA — A U.S. Coast Guard crew rescued a fisherman Wednesday that fell ill while at sea off the coast of Cape Cod.
Just after 3:30 p.m., Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod received a call that a crew member on Motiviation, a commercial fishing vessel out of Cape May, New Jersey, was sick. The call came from 113 miles of the southeast coast of Cape Cod.
Coast Guard officials said the 50-year-old fisherman was experiencing shortness of breath and a fever. Officials sent a helicopter crew and had the fisherman safely aboard before 7 p.m.

The fisherman was brought to shore and then taken by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
