Dozens Of Dead Sea Turtles Wash Up On Cape Cod
The icy temperatures have given way to an early start to cold-stun sea turtle season.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Dozens of cold-stunned sea turtles washed ashore on Cape Cod Thanksgiving morning, many of them frozen solid. The Cape Cod Times reports 82 turtles were found in Brewster, Orleans, and Eastham Thursday.
The Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary said most of the turtles are dead.
It was recently straddling zero degrees with the wind chill factor over the holiday. Turtles can get cold-stunned when the water is under 50 degrees.
